CrossFit is many things. Primarily, it’s a fitness regimen developed by Coach Greg Glassman over several decades. He was the first person in history to define fitness in a meaningful, measurable way (increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains). CrossFit itself is defined as that which optimizes fitness (constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity). CrossFit is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective.

CrossFit Gulf Breeze was started by Acceleration Fitness and Sports Performance owner Andrew Tucker in 2010 at it's first location.  He quickly out grew it and moved into it's new 10,000 square foot home, the Acceleration Fitness Center, with it's own 3,000 square foot CrossFit box.  Tucker recieved his masters degree in sports medicine in 2007, has been a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) since 2008, his CrossFit Level 1 in 2009, and USA Weightlifting performance coach certification in 2011.  All of these influence the programming of CFGB, so that our clients may benefit from different philosophies and methods.  We believe in inspiring every athlete and help them become better through the experiences they recieve at CFGB.  We also have five Level 1 coaches on staff to help you with your needs and help you achieve your goals.  We also have multiple classes a day to choose from, and every class allows the client the ability to scale any workout.  CFGB programs for three levels of every workout, so the athlete has a choice which workout is the best for their ability.

Getting started can be done in one of two ways.  First:  attend a FREE class.  Every Saturday CFGB has a free trial class at 9:00 am.  There are no requirements for this class just show up and GET IT ON.  This class will be basic range of motion workouts that any newbie may perform, so don't worry about difficulty.  Second:  Enroll at Acceleration Fitness Center and take your Basic One on One Orientation with one of the CFGB coaches.  This 60-90 min. session will be scheduled on your time and your coach will go over CrossFit movements, methods, range of motion, flexability, and nutrition.  After you successfully complete your session you may enter the class schedule.--You can not enter a regular class without attending your orientation.
